Some 63 cities had been affected by the stoppage, with more than 80 cities recording demonstrations, G1 news site said.
The number of protesters is expected to balloon in the afternoon with demonstrations planned in Brazil's major cities. ]
Brazil has an estimated workforce of about 100 mil. Even fluffing the numbers, it's still quite impressive.

quote [ We just wanted to discuss some of these most frequent Iran expertitions, who are constantly in the press, who get quoted all the time. They include David Albright of the Institute for Science and International Security, Ollie Heinonen who is at the Harvard Belfer Center, Mark Dubowitz who is at FDD, Reuel Marc Gerecht who is also at FDD and writes all the time for like The Weekly Standard and other shitty rags like that and Ray Takeyh who?s a fellow at the Council for Foreign Relations. And these five people are constantly writing articles together. They?re supporting each other?s articles, are quoting each other?s articles in their own articles and they create this network of quote unquote ?experts,? which are frequently referred to yet very infrequently described as the very neoconservative commentators that they are. ]
This is a very timely ep since, as the US's attempt at a coup in Venezuela has been a spectacular failure, it's looking like the US is redirecting their efforts towards war with Iran. Yesterday there was an attack on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman, with the US very quickly jumping on the opportunity to blame Iran. Luckily, the owner of one of the tankers has been very quick to point out that the US's story is bullshit.

In chasing a narrow swath of white swing voters, the leadership has ignored a broader coalition of voters who have delivered blue victories time and time again. Not only that?at times, it?s actively antagonizing them.

quote [ Lawmakers debated three different bills to legalize same-sex unions and the government's bill, the most progressive of the three, was passed...
The two other bills, submitted by conservative lawmakers, refer to partnerships as "same-sex family relationships" or "same-sex unions" rather than "marriages".
But the government's bill, also the only one to offer limited adoption rights, was passed by 66 to 27 votes - backed by lawmakers from the majority Democratic Progressive Party. ]

Full article in extended (avoid the NYT paywall). For a report that said "totally exonerated" he sure seems hell-bent on making sure it isn't released.

quote [ Speaking at, of all places, the Auschwitz death camp in Poland on Thursday, Ambassador David Friedman told the Times of Israel he is skeptical about the Anti-Defamation League?s just-released annual audit of anti-Semitic incidents, which the group said showed ?near-historic levels of anti-Semitism in 2018, including a doubling of anti-Semitic assaults and the single deadliest attack against the Jewish community in American history.?
Asked about the audit?s findings, Friedman said, ?I doubt it. I haven?t studied it." ]
Way to read a fucking room, shit goblin.
I swear I saw "Speaking At Auschwitz" and "Well, no, I didn't actually READ the report per-SE" and really thought that this was an onion piece when I first saw it.
