quote [ House Republicans voted 119-74 Monday night in favor of a proposal that would gut Congress' outside ethics watchdog and remove its independence. ]

I appreciate your optimism that it will be only 4 years.

I can’t believe America is really ready for Republicans Gone Wild. Unfettered, they will most likely go overboard and alienate enough of the voters to doom themselves. This act is a good example of that.

I would not be at all surprised if they get us into a war, or proxy war, and I don’t think the voters want that. I’m beginning to think that after 4 years, voters will be ready for another change.

I think the Democratic party will have to come up with someone who is not too extreme of a swing to the left though, and that is a big concern, because I think the natural reaction is for the extreme left to become the most active now.

Bush II got us into two wars. He greatly helped foster the recession of 2008. He and his cadre were beholden to the energy industry in a way that probably was prosecutable had the GOP the stomach for the actual rule of law. Bush and Cheney were allowed to testify together to the 9/11 commission so they could keep their stories straight.

Two terms for Mr. Bush.

Trump would have to renounce Jesus, perform an act of blatant homosexuality, and literally shit on the actual Constitution for there to even be a chance of his base not putting him back in office with the same bag of tricks and the same voters who seem to not enjoy facts or campaigns where actively hating someone or some group isn't a part of it.

I'm trying hard to be optimistic here.

I don't expect this regime to lose a lot of support, I expect them to gain a lot of enemies. In other words, inspire a lot of people to get involved/vote.

And at the time, electing a misogynist narcissist fruitcake seemed like a bad idea.

If the government doesn't have to waste time and money on business-restricting ethics regulations, that will free them up to self-regulate their own ethics! It's brilliant!

That's a poorly written article. I had a hard time figuring out what had happened.

I'd be very interested in what else is in this rules package, the whole thing just smells like a bait and switch with the added bonus that Trump comes out looking golden.

If that were so, wouldn't the ethics office have been taken out already?

Troll harder for your Trumpenfuhrer. You're being pathetic and low-energy.
