After playing this for a day, I'd say it isn't mindless. There's a lot of resource management involved. Many clicking games can be ignored for long stretched of time, but this one requires more attention.

i only now realized this even has a pause button: if you leave this idling for too long, random effects mess up your calibrated numbers-go-up that you didn't bother to look at.

Ok, I think I'm done. I've been playing this almost nonstop and got as far as someone can in that time, I think. I've been four different races and I don't feel like I'm getting any enjoyment out of it anymore.

oh wow.. after a day and a half or I got to factories and the whole extraction thing became a bit of a turnoff. Would've liked to see more of that initial phase though.

I think the problem is the complexity. There's a lot to keep track of and it gets tiring after a while. It also needs constant attention or else you'll feel like you're wasting time since there's a limit on how many of each resource you can store. That's not what I look for in a clicker game. Clicker games are also called idle games for a reason.
