The best non-reddit I've come across continues to be tildes.net. It's great and generally has all of the pieces that make reddit good.

he … not sure if this is already promoted, a lot of the docs are missing. I'm just mighty confused about these different systems and federation stuff – hard to keep up with those concepts and protocols. Then again, something that migrates lemmy instances to an easier distributable format might be nice? It is all a bit over my head.
