Germany passes ban on 'gay conversion therapy'

quote [ Germany's parliament has passed a law banning so-called "gay conversion therapy" for young people nationwide.

The legislation is intended to stop groups offering the service - which claims to be able to change a person's sexual orientation - to under-18s... ]

Always good to see, hopefully they ban it from being used on older people as well.

Adults should not be banned from making poor decisions that only affect themselves.

Does Germany have an equivalent of penalty sums in tort law? Could one, for example, repeatedly have gay conversion therapy and claim some kind of false advertising or medical malpractice for misrepresenting their success rates - after having sex with one's same-sex partner each time? Asking for a friend.
