"These aren't people, they're animals."

quote [ "The children will be taken care of - put into foster care or whatever." ]

"When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty." This is not a gray area. This is a place where people should take off there uniforms and say no.

Hmmm
Maybe you could teach all those kids useful survival skills
- like some kind of concentrated camping?
Honestly sometimes it seems like the present administration would love that.

Wasn't that comment referring to MS-13? In that case yeah, they're pretty much animals.

Do you believe that the person who said of Mexican immigrants "They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists," was referring only to MS-13 when he said, "We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in ... You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals."?

Trump apologists have tried to hang this theory that he was only speaking of MS-13 on the fact that Sheriff Mims, after a long complaint about her frustration at not being able to detain undocumented people in California, threw in a mention of MS-13.

In his response, Trump made no mention of MS-13 or gang activity, but instead lamented immigration laws, and, of course, boasted of how much he is deporting - so much deporting, the best deporting.

That was a later retcon. The original quote wasn't specifically about them.

Republicans are "pro-life," and care about The Children™. They care about children so much they were up in arms over pizzagate, a completely made-up fantasy story about children that didn't exist being abused in a basement that also didn't exist. Surely they will be up in arms about the abuse of these children!

The ones who "fell for it" were Republicans because they did not read the article, (or were counting on their readers not to read the article) that was clearly satire that even included the passage

Now, of course, none of this means that Jeff Sessions and Donald Trump are part of some vast conspiracy to sell minority children ... .

However, why be hamstrung by the facts, as bad as they are? Trump has shown America that you can get away with whatever salacious, ridiculous and unfounded conspiracy you want as long as you say it loudly enough and find enough other people to repeat it.
The White House communications director, who "slammed" Ryan, said she "referenced the headline", which emphasizes the very problem the article lampoons. To which April Ryan answered
And that is what I am talking about. Just reading headlines is not the story and you went after me for not knowing what the story was. Not cool!
But I'm sure you know all this because you read the articles.
