Millennials Share The Worst Words Of Advice They Received From Baby Boomers

quote [ My boss recently told me my generation was entitled, and began quoting various articles on how we all think we're special and exempt from criticism.

As I was shoveling a dead rat out of the doorway. ]

If you hate slideshows, skip this one. If you want to hear some funny anecdotes and have time to kill while you contemplate how you'll pay your debts and where your life went so wrong... you might enjoy this.

33/33 My employer, who is an old person, told me to have authentic feelings about a situation that was happening in real life.

It's not the 1970s anymore, gramps! That's not how it works. My crippling student loan debt has left me unable to express human emotions without a celebrity reaction GIF. Where are the celebrity reaction GIFs in real life, boomers? Are the just floating in the air like they were when you became CEO of General Motors right after graduating high school?

I see you must write book reviews on Goodreads.

Worst I ever got was at the end of undergrad: "You need to finish school already and get on with life in the real world." The entry-level degree for my field is a masters.

My partner got this a lot: "The best way to find a job is to hit the pavement and deliver resumes in person! This online stuff is just nonsense."

In 2007 after the financial crisis people in my field were making personal visits to companies and dropping off resume's for HR and asked to speak with somebody, if possible. Desperate times. . .

And they weren't all told "I'm sorry, our system is entirely online now, please upload your resume there."?

Well... do you hate yourself? If so, you're in luck! Click the link and suffer through the slideshow!

I'm not a millennial, but I do think that many people (particularly older people) don't understand the difference between "work" and "struggle". Both are difficult, both require a lot of energy, but only one leads to progress.

And while we're at it, fuck the so-called 'greatest generation'.
Bunch of stingy meddling do-gooders, always telling us boomers how 'entitled' we are.

Damn kids, get off my lawn!

Say, is it true that you can't do 4 years and have only a smallish loan to pay back anymore? My final loan tally was about four tenths of one year of going to school, which was quite do-able as far as repayment goes.

edit: 1986 for comparison purposes

I can't relate to this because I never got any advice. Also, this would be better without the gifs.
