They are TV's ghosts — networks that somehow survive with little reason to watch them anymore

quote [ Cable television is filled with ghosts. They're networks that somehow survive as shadows of themselves, with schedules clogged with reruns and devoid of any real innovation. ]

They're probably watching him on ghost TV

MTV now is no different to the Roku singular "channels" that only broadcast the same show several times (e.g. Funny or Die channel airing the Don Cheadle Captain Planet skits + behind the scenes features for 2-3 days, with Funny or Die commercials in between). There are also Roku channels that air the same show/episode multiple times under different subtitles/dubbed languages, depending on the hour.

Side story, I don't even use Roku's free channels that much but I have the propaganda channels blocked.

news-oriented outlets thrived during the Trump administration but have faded recently
And they have not been subtle about wanting a second Trump term for this very reason.

Probably all these channels will just merge with other ones until they are all under the umbrella of cable news and sports, the only remaining profit centers. Of course, if you provide cable news or sports, why do you want to provide reruns of House Hunters that will steal your audience?

On demand has come, and the only holdouts are sports and boomers watching CNN and Fox News and feeling angry.
