quote [ The strange secrets of humor, fear and a guy who makes big money making little people laugh ]
I love making people laugh. It makes me forget how deeply unsecure I am. It really is a façade of confidence for me.

I’ve read the theory that just about everybody who seems naturally funny has a social/emotion problem, because we’re not naturally funny. It’s a learned skill. A learned skill that helps you function socially. If you’re naturally charismatic and sociable, it’s not a skill you need to cultivate, whereas every awkward person remembers the time they somehow made the whole class laugh and how amazing it felt. The final conclusion was that it’s not that comedians tend to be miserable inside, but that people who are miserable inside tend to become comedians.

The article was Robin Williams and Why Funny People Kill Themselves
Although that was rushed out before we found out that Robin Williams’ suicide was basically a side effect of early onset dementia. |

IDK, making people laugh is a social skill and fully under-rated. I think it goes well with being charismatic and sociable. I mean, I wouldn’t know, but there you go.
