The declaration is one of the latest developments in a long-running case brought by black and Hispanic cops who charge they were forced to arrest more blacks and Hispanics than other groups. They were treated harshly and denied promotions if they refused, the lawsuit alleges. ] It was known this activity went on, but more cops are coming forward about it. Cracked did a video based on an interview with the stabbing victim (who subdued the serial stabber) and I think this incident is a good representation of the fundamental problem with our police force. It isn't only that police harm innocent black people and enforce disproportionately against black and hispanic people, but that they also evidently aren't obligated to help you or stop a crime they witness being committed... These components taken together show a clear pattern that police don't serve the people and are not here to necessarily enforce laws or protect anyone.
