Drunk Ex-Pastors, the Podcast

quote [ Take two guys who?ve been best friends for 20 years, put them in pastoral ministry for a while, let them both be sufficiently battle-scarred by their former churches, then stick them in a room with microphones and whiskey, and this podcast is what you?ll get. ]

Podcast that discusses, as they say, Culture, Politics, Religion, and Biebers. (Note: A Bieber is a small insignificant thing that annoys people.) Christian Kingery is a former pastor turned agnostic (or atheist, as the joke goes), and Jason Stellman is a former pastor that gave up the church he founded to become Catholic.

These guys went to my old K-12 school that was the back-end of the first Megachurch, Calvary Chapel, and I've been an avid listener since about episode 8. They'll have #47 up tonight around midnight PDT, and it's a hilarious and insightful show. They're not DRUNK drunk, just niiiicely buzzed, but they are ex-pastors.

They talk about issues of the day (well, it's a weekly show, so issues of the week), they talk and answer questions and biebers from voicemails (213-97-DRUNK) and facebook comments, and they give their biebers at the end. The podcasts are usually in the hour and a half (usually) to two hour range (sometimes), but are worth the time investment.

It's a bit difficult at first to tell their voices apart, but Jason has a bit more of a California accent going.

I ask because they get progressively better at understanding viewpoints of others and not being jokily racist/sexist/etc thanks to listener feedback and such, as the shows go on.

Jason tends to play devil's advocate (har har) a bit, and espouses some views that seem unsavory, but Christian's there to rebut against them.
