I once told a real estate agent that his photographs gave a exaggerated impression of the amount of space in a property. He said "Thank you."

They often use wide angle rectilinear lenses. Those stretch pictures at the edges for the purpose of making straight lines, making rooms appear larger than they are.

My dad put a door to nowhere like that in our house when we built it. The screen porch came a few years later.
