Eduardo Pérez's José Fernández Remembrance Was Incredible

quote [ If you’re waking up today to the news that José Fernández is dead, and perhaps don’t quite understand how influential the Marlins pitcher and Cuban refugee was to people in Miami and to baseball fans around the world, you need to watch ESPN analyst Eduardo Pérez’s appearance on the network this morning, as he’ll make it all very clear for you. ]

Today baseball fans lost an amazing young talent that had the potential to become one of the greats. Eduardo Perez's memoriam was absolutely phenomenal, even if you don't care about sports. Oh, and he and his girlfriend had announced they were expecting 5 days ago.

The first GIFV in the comments on that page is probably what most would recognize.

Not a huge sports person myself, but that one was a good reminder that people can still have fun at the professional level...

That's one of the sadder aspects here. Jose actually played the game, with joy, he didn't try to work the game. Definitely one of those "do what you love, love what you do" type of people.
