ISS live streaming

quote [ Live video from the International Space Station includes internal views when the crew is on-duty and Earth views at other times. The video is accompanied by audio of conversations between the crew and Mission Control. This video is only available when the space station is in contact with the ground. During "loss of signal" periods, viewers will see a blue screen. Since the station orbits the Earth once every 90 minutes, it experiences a sunrise or a sunset about every 45 minutes. When the station is in darkness, external camera video may appear black, but can sometimes provide spectacular views of lightning or city lights below. ]

Pretty neat live streaming 24/7 ~300km above the earth

Not related, but I found this to be a good thing: [Janet] Mock flips the script and asks Alicia to share what it's like to be a cisgender woman . The video is autoplay though, but I think it's worth watching.

You can track the ISS here, and see where it is with google earth view: http://iss.astroviewer.net/

There's another ISS stream, supposedly. The High Definition Earth Viewing (HDEV) experiment aboard the International Space Station (ISS) was activated April 30, 2014. More info about it here:

They're apparently having issues right now, it's been displaying a gray screen for the past couple of days.

Remember, kids. The only difference between science and screwing around is writing things down.

Hard to get a grant for "screwing around". That's where the writing comes in, I guess.
