The Mclean's article, while accurate focusses specifically on one racial issue, namely First Nations. And yes, it is a horrible problem and historically Canada does not have a could track record on Indigenous matters. No doubt there.

However, the outright racism, the police violence against black americans, the gun violence.... I don't think you can find any actual evidence that Canada is somehow worse than the US.

And that second article is pure - ahem - mooseshit too. I mean, who cares if Sir John A was a drunk? What does that have to do with 2016? Same goes for Mounties. That piece isn't much more than hyperbolic opinion.

Yes, we have problems. Most Canadians will admit as much, but I'll take Justin Trudeau and oil sands over Trump and police murdering thousands of black americans.
