YouTube now uses AI to rate uploaded videos based on description, tags, title, thumbnail used, and viewer retention. Because of their dependence on this AI, only specific videos are promoted and shown ads. Based on the ratings, videos can be limited for not being “family-friendly.”
This has also allowed lots of channels who figured out how the rating system works to take advantage of it by targeting YouTube Kids. Using search terms made by kids and deceiving thumbnails, they ensure their videos are clicked and watched by kids, furthering their videos in the site, Morley likely to be suggested and get as revenue.
