Flipping Dots Fast.

I somehow recognized the gif near the bottom as being Bad Apple less than two seconds after scrolling down to it. I don't know how I feel about this.

I can't help but think that there should be a more elegant way to do this, something that doesn't involve having multiple components per dot. Wikipedia says that they usually use a matrix arrangement, so you only need one switch per row and column. To do animation, you just need much more powerful pulses so you can speed it up.
