The approximately 90% success rate of eradication efforts is why Island Conservation simply must accept DARPA funding to develop gene drive rodents to eradicate rats et al from islands. 90% is too poor. Thank god for DARPA. Everybody knows that DARPA was created, and spends Dept of Defense dollars, for the protection of seabirds. No, it really has nothing to do with other DARPA priorities at all. DARPA just loves the stormy petrel.
