Watched this years ago and seem to recall Mr Sider being admonished for insulting Gore's wife, as if it was an affront to him rather than to her and that he should respond to it since the poor dear obviously needed him to defend her. It was amazingly sexist.

People still disparage Ted Cruz for not standing up to Trump's insults toward Cruz' wife. Is it sexist? Or simply having a sense of integrity? Or both?

Point taken but to add some context; it was Gore's wife who had disparaged Snider and thrust herself in to the political debate. Cruz's wife was an innocent victim. (And, if I recall corectly, it wasn't Gore who complained, it was someone else saying how dare you insult Al's wife rather than someone saying, how dare you insult Tipper.)

Yeah, good point and distinction. And it's not like Al later went on tour with Twisted Sister.

I had expressed myself poorly as I half remembered it. Apologies. The real issue thinking about it was the last one, that it wasn't "you insulted Tipper" but "you insulted Al's wife." My thinking often comes after my typing.

How times change. What used to be Rock Porn is now an anthem for freedom. It wouldn't surprise me if it was some of the exact same people.
