Elizabeth Warren's Campaign Is Now About Keeping Bernie Sanders From Winning

Warren isn't Sanders' competition. Biden is. You're playing the "please drop out so my candidate can consolidate their coalition" game, which if you've been paying attention, is happening with virtually all the non-Biden moderate candidates right now as well. So which is it? Is Warren a threat to Sanders, pulling votes away from him, with 40% of her base polling Sanders as their second? Or does Warren have so small a chance at winning she should just put her campaign out of its misery? This article paints her as both a threat and dismissively not important.

Sanders supporters are focusing on Warren because she is a progressive alternative to Sanders policies, and its easier to attack her for being mean and not 100% pure than it is to try and convince moderates to vote for Sanders instead of Biden.

I say this as someone who recognizes Warren doesn't stand a chance against Sanders, but let's not pretend this isn't what it is.

These two things are not mutually exclusive. She is not going to win, that doesn't mean she's not going to suck away delegates that may keep him from going into the convention with the majority (not a plurality, a majority!) of delegates. If that happens, there is no way the superdelegates are going to allow for a Sander's candidacy in the following rounds. That makes her Sander's competition. That makes her a direct roadblock to his candidacy and the platform the progressive movement is coalescing around. And there's no fucking way the Democrats are going to beat Trump after stealing a nomination from the people.

No fucking shit.πŸ’β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜…πŸ˜… The reason they're doing it is because they would have been fighting over votes and going non-viable thus giving Bernie more delegates.

All campaigns are keeping the other campaigns from winning. That's how campaigns work.

The thing that kept you from posting the article that said the Sanders campaign is keeping Warren from winning. That's how.

Warren's keeping Warren from winning. That much should be obvious to anyone that's watched her poll numbers tank after she backed off of supporting M4A.

She's not doing well because the MSM want's a bernie biden two person race.

If she got the press burnie does, I'm guessing it would still be a three person race. Somehow nobody wants a woman president.

I've been doing a lot of research on the interwebs and I'm like 90% sure it's the Shriners....

Or wealthy Capitalists and their lackeys exhibiting Class Consciousness, as Sanders' mobilization of the working class represents a threat to the current Status Quo which gives the Ownership Class an elevated lifestyle at the cost of our health, freedom, and security. πŸ€”πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

But it's probably the Shriners.

I still want to know how a self proclaimed socialist is going to win the presidency against the epitome of capitalism in a nation that is defined by capitalism. The youth vote is fickle and doesn't know shit.

It's not a matter of policy or where you land on the political spectrum, it's how you defeat dumpster. That's all that matters.

And burnie is just like dumpster in so many regards it boggles the mind. Only on the other side. It's about personality and individualism(cult) as opposed to getting the fucking job done in the interim for "community." Burnie wins and we have nothing for 4 years. You want revolution? Start by winning the senate. And burnie isn't going to do that. More divisiveness and conflict is in the future.

We get it. You don't like BERNIE. Or TRUMP.
C18H27NO3 said[1] @ 9:19pm GMT on 4th Mar
I'll hold my nose and vote for bernie if he's the nominee. Then I'll vomit afterwards. I can't vote in the primary as I am unaffiliated.

More than what I can say about bernie bro's in 2016. Who decided to abstain after bernie's lackluster support of clinton. No, he wasn't cheated.

Yeah. No. I don't like a self serving opportunist looking out for his legacy telling everybody he, and only he, can give kids what they want. Knowing that he can't. Sound familiar?

People need to remember that there is an opposition. It's formidable. You can't win on a pie in the sky alone. If that's what this country has come to, then I'mma outta here.

bernie campaigned like mad for clinton. when he was in michigan, where hillary barely put in any effort, i went to watch him speak. it kicked ass and he made a hell of a case for a candidate i loathed in my very core. i cast my vote for her like millions of other bernie supporters that came out and voted for hillary, and we did so in higher percentages than hillary supporters did for obama in 2008. hillary lost the election because she thought she already had it won, ran on "america's already great" when america fucking sucked shit for most of the people living in it, and like a third of voters genuinely believe that her and her husband are serial murderers.

That's the right strategy, though. The Democratic establishment is very set on being Republican-light. The only way to force them out of that is to make them unelectable unless they capitulate and nominate a progressive candidate.

This is why nobody wants to hear jack shit from the overwhelming majority of Bernie folks under the age of 30.

We just had super tuesday and the majority of voters under 30 were so low. Bernie even admitted: https://www.businessinsider.com/bernie-sanders-admits-hes-not-inspiring-enough-young-voters-2020-3

There are many Bernie supporters that are probably also unaffiliated. So how are they gonna vote for him?
steele said[1] @ 10:32pm GMT on 6th Mar

What a shit article. It's almost as if the argument isn't being made in good faith.

In Virginia, where Biden clobbered Sanders by almost 30 points, turnout surged from 800,000 in 2016 to 1.3 million on Tuesday, but the portion of the electorate made up of 17-29 year-old voters actually declined. And Sanders won 55% of Virginia's young voters this year β€” down from 69% in 2016.

And yet VA youth turnout was actually UP more than 34%

A similar phenomenon played out in North Carolina, another crucial swing state, where 17-29 year-old voters declined as a share of the electorate and their support for Sanders dropped from 69% to 57%.

HMM, and yet, NC youth turnout actually stayed about the same.

And in Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Massachusetts, and Sanders' home state of Vermont, the youth vote also declined as a percentage of Democratic primary-goers. But in California, Sanders managed to expand the young vote.

Alabama Vermont, yep disappointing. TN stayed about the same. South Carolina though, UP 6%. Texas? UP 15%! (And that's with some serious voter suppression.) Massachusetts? UP 24 %!

I guess what I'm trying to say is, stop making me do math.
