The article doesn't explain how the bikes will stop working. Will the pedals lock up and the wheel refuse to spin? It's an exercise bike. Why would it stop working just because it can't connect to the company servers anymore?
I mean, I can understand a coffee maker refusing to brew coffee or a toaster oven refusing to heat up once it no longer receives authorization from the company servers, but how is a company supposed to remotely disable an exercise bike? |

Customers paid for instruction, etc.
The bike stops working like paying tuition and the school shuts down but leaves the library doors open. |

So they'll have to ride the bike without being told how to anymore? What is this, the dark ages?
