I always considered him one of the "holy trinity of rock and roll drummers" which would also include Keith Moon and John Bonham.

I concur. And when Ginger Baker - whom we lost in October - had nothing good to say about Moon, Bonham or Mitch Mitchell (compared to himself), he didn't stoop to damning Neil Peart.
I saw Peart in concert on Rush's 40th anniversary tour, and took my son along. I'm not sure he remembers it, but I'll never forget. RIP. |

He was also active in the 24 Hours of LeMons racing scene. A real loss.

He was also the lyricist of Rush, and a lot of what he wrote spoke directly to me.
