Read Gordon Sondland's explosive opening statement at the impeachment hearing

quote [ He implicates Trump, Pompeo and Bolton by saying they were fully aware in real time of what he and others were doing in Ukraine. ]

I don't think Nunes knew this was coming - the frustrated look on his face when they took a break was priceless. A sort of "fuuuuuck we're done" look.

The shit just hit the fan. Then the fan fell into the bathtub. While Tmurp was taking a bath. With RG. And Pence. And Pompeo.

My prediction: nothing will happen.

This is great news for John McCain!

Just yesterday I was listening to some brainless fuckhead on NPR saying "the Democrats say it was bribery, the republicans say Trump was trying to stop corruption, both sides are convinced they're right, who can tell!?" We'll see how they spin this.

Thing is, the facts are all there. Quid pro bribery/ extortion. Obstruction. Witness tampering.

Senate won't convict even if there is a smoking gun. I'm more interested in how many voters can be flipped.

Yup. The Republican party is a criminal organization; the test will be whether more Americans want to live in a democracy or in a kleptocracy.

Why? Because a successful impeachment and removal from office is a gun no politician wants turned on themselves.

Check out Massie's twitter feed

230 members of Congress just voted to waive the rule that gives us 72 hours to read the Continuing Resolution.

Why is that significant? This CR contains a last minute unrelated provision to extend the #PatriotAct

I am Jack's complete and total lack of surprise.

For a good demonstration of why democracy in the US is fucked, look at fox news' home page today. I don't know to what extent it is personalised for the user, but when i checked the impeachment hearings didn't feature until 3 news 'topics' down, and the articles contain essentially none of the testimony that is regarded as damaging, but focus entirely on the GOP rep's questions on whether Sonderland was explicitely told of a quid pro quo (cf you know, any reasoning based on known facts).

You're not surprised, are you?

"I'm not disappointed. I'm just very angry"
