Some of the people I love have graduated from the kooky-but-generally-positive healing-power-of-dolphins and tossing-crystals-at-mobile-phone-masts-type behaviour of yesteryear to the much nastier Reptilian/Crisis-actor variety.
I try to ignore it, but it's deeply distressing. Like watching somebody go from smoking pot to meth. My beliefs have moved in the opposite direction, partly from disgust and partly from the influence the SE community has had on me in the past ten years. |

The most interesting part of this, to me, is that so many of these people are Trump supporters. By any metric I can contrive, he ends up in the top-five-or-so likely human impersonators.
