Inside the black (cherry) market of vintage Kool-Aid packet collectors

quote [ When you’re in the mood for Kool-Aid, you can walk into a grocery store and chose from about 20 different flavor packets all priced at about a quarter a piece. However, if you’re in the market for some quintessentially classic, high-grade, “Oh Yeah!”-era Kool-Aid, you’ll have to enter the fruit-flavored underbelly of one the most intriguing subsets in the world of pop culture food enthusiasts: the black market of vintage Kool-Aid packet collectors. ]

Black Lotus Street Peddler : Hey... black lotus... Stygian... the best!

Subotai : This had better not be Haga!

Black Lotus Street Peddler : I would sell Haga to a slayer such as you?

For a moment I thought that was something about counterfeit Magic: cards.

FYI: There's a bedrock orange on eBay for $90 if you want to start your collection on a high note.

From the comments:

"I know what the illustrator was going for but it feels more like the Kool Aid guy is flashing me, and I don’t like it."

"I enjoy sentences that have never existed before, which I am guessing/hoping this one has not."

I thought everyone thought the Kool-Aid man looked like a flasher. Or a D.A.R.E. drug dealer. Remember when we thought trenchcoats meant flashing and drugs? Before it meant school shooting or loves-the-Matrix-too-much? Simpler times.

I remember when my mom came home with a copy of Kool-Aid Man for the Atari 2600. It was a terrible game, but I played it and enjoyed it. Those were simpler times.

I actually liked the 7-Up commercial video game from the 90s on my Sega. So I understand.

I just checked and Cool Spot was released for 7 different systems. That's impressive for a soda commercial.

The ice cubes are floating too high up and the surface of the liquid isn't level. Also, I just noticed that the ice cubes in the small pitcher are identical to the ones in Kool-Aid Man. They must have been copied and pasted.

So, it's a spore?

Kool-Aid Man is a fungus. Let's all drink his sweet fluid.

He does seem like a fun guy.
