Alex Jones blames "psychosis" for his Sandy Hook conspiracies

quote [ He now admits the shooting massacre was not a hoax.

In a video released Friday, Jones acknowledged in a sworn deposition stemming from a lawsuit filed by the families of Sandy Hook victims that the school shooting was in fact real. Jones blamed the “trauma of the media and the corporations lying so much” for triggering his extreme distrust in news and information. ]

Yes - it reads like an April Fools headline, but its the real deal. Marked as "humor" because unless you are one of the very-fine-people who expected a $4000 reduction in your federal taxes while patiently waiting for Mexico to pay for the wall, you know this guy a walking joke amongst human beings.

I think Alex Jones definitely has some sort of psychosis. He legitimately might have schizophrenia or something. He definitely lies, but I'm not actually sure he knows what are lies and what is real anymore.

I watched some of his appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast and wow, the level of madness was far more than I was expecting. He was flat out saying that the world is actually run by NASA, who use DMT to communicate with inter-dimensional aliens, from which they receive advanced technology that they are using to build a new society to replace all of us (and of course, he says he has proof of all this but the world isn't ready for it).

Our plutocrats wouldn't want us to have the critical thinking skills necessary to realize we're being pitted against eachother to fight over the crumbs they leave us. Of course, they don't do their own dirty work, they contribute to campaigns and organizations that do it!

They say democracy is the worst form of government except for every other form of government, but I'm not always sure that's true. It has a nice veneer, but from a practical, day-to-day standpoint, would my life be that different as a serf?

Ok. Then institutionalize him, because he's a proven danger to the public. Or he should take personal responsibility for all the suffering he's caused. One or the other. The halfway "he's crazy but free speech therefore free rein to harass people" option is bullshit. The same conservatives that defend him wouldn't put up with this shit from some aggressive mentally-ill panhandler.

Yeah, I originally thought Jones was Bill O'Reilly, but up a level- just a normal, level-headed dude who used and abused the stupidity and ignorance of troglodytes, idiots and schizophrenics to make a profit.

Turns out, the dude is a fucking nutter, just like his followers. That Rogan podcast- which seems to have disappeared from Rogan's page- just reinforces it, because- in a fit of podcasting genius- Rogan just let's him talk, and talk, and talk.

Speaking of Rogan, anyone ever see/hear the Kanye podcast?

Yeah, same here. I only knew of him tangentially until that podcast, but he seemed like he actually should be on medication or something.

Other highlights include things like him repeatedly asking the MMA guest to choke him out (Rogan actually seemed alarmed about that one), and him getting angry at the MMA guy for being interested in Flat Earth theory, while simultaneously claiming that the Nazi's "obviously" had alien technology.
Ankylosaur said @ 8:54pm GMT on 2nd Apr
Well, of course he would be upset by fake flat earth theories designed to cover up the fact that the Nazis got their alien technology from the alien colony inside the hollow earth.

I don't know... I've seen a video of him where he's spouting off some bullshit like "I have a text conversation with an FBI guy right here on my phone... that I can't show you" and it's the most bullshit thing I've ever seen in my life. It's pretty obvious he's just making shit up.

Now - I will entertain the possibility that he's making shit up because he thinks it's best for the world and a few white lies are the eggs he has to break to make people see the truth... but I think he's making too much money to believe that.

Actually, my thought was more the opposite. He makes stuff up as a form of escapism, and he's built up such a fantasy world that he can't differentiate what is real any more.

This American Life did an episode about him where they investigated some story about his childhood, and how he ended up moving away to a different school. The way he tells it, he was some sort of super hero uncovering corruption and taking on the entire football team in a fight by himself.

The way everyone else told it was that he was some sort of bully who randomly picked fights and threatened people. Everyone disliked him. He hospitalized one of his friends for no reason, so they finally all ganged up on him at a party and beat him badly enough that his parents decided to move. His parents were definitely aware of his troubles (they even paid for the friend's hospital bills), so it seemed like a move that they had prepared for.

The thing is that the story as he tells it is supposed to be one of the first examples of him becoming a "truth seeker" when in actuality it seems to be a full-on fantasy that he made up to cover a childhood trauma.

ItT seems the only time this guy tells the truth is when he's forced to by a court.

On one hand, I want to believe him. On the other, generally the crazy people don't believe they're crazy, and that's why they're crazy.

Not that I'm a doctor. But he's got awfully sane timing, to be pleading insanity when he's been completely disenfranchised.
