That’s exactly what I was thinking but the age of consent in Alabama is 16. If it happened a few months earlier then he would be facing a second degree rape charge because she would be 15. Romeo and Julie laws would not protect him because he is guaranteed to be more than two years older than her given the ages in the story. So knowing exactly when the sexual relations occurred is important.
