Law to Legalize Pot Introduced to U.S. Senate

quote [ With a supermajority of Americans supporting marijuana legalization, the ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, Ron Wyden (D-OR), has introduced a bill to tax and regulate the substance like alcohol.

In a nod to the mainstreaming of marijuana culture, the legislation carries the stony bill number S. 420. It is the companion to a bill introduced by fellow Oregon Democrat, Rep. Earl Blumenauer, the senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, H.R. 420. ]

Should post this at 4;20 (and I LOVE how the bill is named S. 420) , but - hey, I do love the smell of an unexpected headline in the morning. Also - I have an extra 30 day silver membership to give to the first person who asks.

Wyden is also one of the folks behind the nationwide vote-by-mail bills, making his political platform "dangit America, Oregon has already sorted these things out so stop hand-wringing about it being hard!"

As a fellow Oregonian i can say: sky hasn't fallen down.

Now, as for "figured it out" that didn't apply to Healthcare marketplace and/or homelessness and substance abuse, and i could stand to see less Proud Boyz in the streets. On the whole though i'm happy to be here.

You can't blame the west coast for the entire continent's homeless problem.

Of course you can! They come out here to not-die in the Winter. We need some kind of erected structure to keep them out, maybe something wall-ish.

Or money. Maybe all you folks east of the rockies could carry your weight once in a while.

I woudln't be surprised to see the gop jumping on the bandwagon to get this passed before the 2020 elections lest it appear on state ballots and increase millennial turnout.
