meh, I mean it is bad but motorcycles have the same problems. It makes sense that they would have problems on par with 80 year old companies that don't have a back ground in software. They are both boot strapping whole software ecosystems. With the added headache of having other vendors who make hardware and other vendors that make the software for those vendors. Should they be better, of course. Should they be hiring the best with attractive incentives, of course. But I'm not surprised. They need someone to take control of fixing this part of the company and probably other parts of the company. And I think they should keep Elon as a part of the company. There is no doubt that he adds value. He just can't be relied on to run the whole thing. Give him the product r&d and advertising. Head hunt the production mangers from all the auto factories that have closed, get IBM, Oricale or Microsoft to manage the software dev.

They have the best. Or had the best. They drove away all the key people with their outrageous demands. And the people left to keep it going don’t want to change anything, or afraid of breaking things.

Yeah, they will probably have to rebuild the personal from the top down. It isn't easy to change the work culture. It takes a whole wipe it out and remake it kind of thing. And that is really scary when you are trying to catch up with the numbers you are behind on.

Elon Musk is the Big Bang Theory sitcom of American industry.

Even Elon Musk is funnier than Big Bang Theory.
