Little Drummer Boy Challenge

quote [ Puh-rum-pum-pum-pum, people.

It’s very easy: So long as you don’t hear “The Little Drummer Boy,” you’re a contender. As soon as you hear it on the radio, on TV, in a store, wherever, you’re out. ]

I hate Christmas music with a passion. You can submit your win/loss (and let's be honest, it's gonna be a loss) here.

I think, per the rules, you have tricked folks and are auto-eliminated from play!

I'm out. 2:55PM on a December 2, at the Starbucks on Woodside road in Redwood City. Had to try that cardamom latte.

I'm going to loss no matter what on christmas eve. It always gets sung at my church.
foobar said @ 6:24pm GMT on 25th Nov
Perhaps it's a sign for personal growth; stop going.
EvilNinjaX24 said @ 9:49pm GMT on 25th Nov
I do a damn good job of avoiding Xmas music, but I also watch a lot (read: too much) TV, so it's bound to get me. LDB tends NOT to get to me, though. Hmmm.

The grocery store is what kills me. It's unavoidable.

super-easy win.

I lost before Halloween.

The store I was just in played the David Bowie/Bing Crosby version. Does that count?
Hugh E. said @ 3:28am GMT on 26th Nov [Score:1 Underrated]
It counts as David Bowie singing a song so you don't have to hear that other song.
rylex said @ 3:11am GMT on 26th Nov
It counts.

Nah, I feel like I should dispute that. I mean sure, someone in that song is singing the Little Drummer Boy, but its' like someone else in the same song is singing the antidote.
arrowhen said @ 6:33am GMT on 26th Nov
A contest where you could lose by listening to David Bowie doesn't make sense, because listening to David Bowie is always better than not listening to David Bowie.
captainstubing said @ 8:56pm GMT on 26th Nov
Damn straight. And the bing/bowie ldb is one of only two Christmas songs allowed in Chez stubing. The other one is a fairytale of New York and both are allowed in December only.

When you report your loss, they ask which version of the song you heard:

"Blackmail your children!
God knows that that's the only...
...way that they'll behave!
Let's sing more carols!
Let's sing a song about cold...
...weather, drinks, and date raaaaaape!"

"Cos we need a lot of Christmas!
Stinking lot of Christmas!
Giant wad of Christmas, til it's coming out our ears...!"

(Sorry. No idea what came over me. I meant to say that I hate carols, too. I have a good chance of winning this game, but that's mostly because after ten years of working in retail, I never go into a shop this time of year without a working mp3 player. Also, I don't own a TV.)

Most Christmas music is okay I think, but I hate the drummer boy with a passion.
arrowhen said @ 6:35am GMT on 26th Nov
Last Christmas I gave the little drummer boy my heart, but the very next day he gave it away.
knumbknutz said @ 1:37am GMT on 27th Nov
Does it going on a nonstop loop in my ear after reading the header count?
